“10 And after they have hardened their hearts and stiffened their necks against the Holy One of Israel, behold, the judgments of the Holy One of Israel shall come upon them. And the day cometh that they shall be smitten and afflicted.
11 Wherefore, after they are driven to and fro, for thus saith the angel, many shall be afflicted in the flesh, and shall not be suffered to perish, because of the prayers of the faithful; they shall be scattered, and smitten, and hated; nevertheless, the Lord will be merciful unto them, that when they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer, they shall be gathered together again to the lands of their inheritance.
12 And blessed are the Gentiles, they of whom the prophet has written; for behold, if it so be that they shall repent and fight not against Zion, and do not unite themselves to that great and abominable church, they shall be saved; for the Lord God will fulfil his covenants which he has made unto his children; and for this cause the prophet (Isaiah) has written these things.” (2 Nephi 6, parenthesis and content therein are the blogger’s)
As we’ve explored much of the prophesied suffering among not just the No-Light-People (NLP) but among All Nations the reality of it causes one to tremble. God’s recompense, anger, vengeance, and rebuke toward all those who choose the devil and reject the Light who brings Eternal Life is no joking matter and should make us all rethink which side of the line we stand on. Man’s own hard-heartedness and recalcitrant walk brings about such wrath as they reject Truth before them… we are creatures of agency and are responsible for our own decisions and actions. Not only that, but God is, after all, combatting the very darkness, the devil himself, who seeks to rob the souls of men of continuing progress and tries to drag them down to death and hell (2 Nephi 9:10, 26). Hence, we read of the grand yet dismal destruction and desolation in the latter days from the words of holy prophets in the Word of God.
Thus far in our journey of learning about God’s Great and Marvelous Work with Isaiah’s book as the central story and hub for all other prophets’ revelations regarding such work, we’ve discovered these No-Light-People (NLP) suffering double because they kill The Lord God who comes before them to testify of the wickedness of their precepts and traditions of their fathers. We’ve read of the horrors which will befall them and hang our heads in silence as we contemplate the suffering brought by the hand of God in recompense for their deeds. The death of Jehovah is the signalling event that propels the remainder of God’s work forward across the world. The majority of the Great and Marvelous Work of God will be world-wide—thus each of us will receive the signs in our own lives of it’s beginning and evolvement. Those who wait and look are those who will recognize such signs.
The magnitude of suffering which comes upon these No-Light-People (NLP), occurring after the death of The Lord, cannot fully be realized until it is seen first-hand. However, we have been given explicit accounts of what will transpire in The Word of God. Like I mentioned before, it will be unlike anything this world has ever witnessed in its history.
11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
19 ¶And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
